Lorna Pearce

Lorna is one of our Site Managers, initially joining as a Trainee in 2016.

Having joined Jarvis to expand her knowledge within the sector, she has since progressed within the business, supervising a number of important projects, and undertaken a Construction Management degree through the University of Hertfordshire.

Why did you decide to follow this career path?

Complete accident! First went to university and studied fashion journalism, left there and started as an admin assistant at another construction company.

From there, I started covering for people on holidays, realised I quite enjoyed construction and wanted to get out on site more. I made a jump as a trainee site manager in 2016 and here I am now.

What's an average day like in your role?

Every day is different and it’s hard to clarify! Usually very busy, dealing with queries from contractors, material orders, quality issues, colourful neighbours.

What do you enjoy about your role?

The way the job is always changing, something new every day. Even jobs that are similar have individual nuances that keep the work interesting.

What’s the best thing about working at Jarvis?

The people I work with!
